Community University Victoria Conference (CUVIC) 2014

Beyond Engagement: Creating integration, innovation and impact

May 20-22, 2014 in Victoria, BC, Canada

As universities seek to enhance their potential to contribute to the public good, there is growing effort globally to promote community-university engagement. At the same time communities, organizations and governments seek to leverage the knowledge and resource capacity of universities to address community needs.  CUVIC 2014 is an opportunity to reflect on these efforts and enable community-university innovation and action within the institutional, Indigenous, national and global context.

The conference will be of interest to faculty, students, community (business, Indigenous nations and organizations, non-government organizations, community groups, funders and governments), higher education administrators, researchers, scholars, national and global community-university and community-based research networks.

CUVIC 2014 Conference is an initiative of the Provost and the Institute for Studies & Innovation in Community-University Engagement (ISICUE).

International Foster Care Organization – world conference (IFCO)

In 2011 – our network was invited to collaborate with organizers for their bi-annual International Foster Care Organization – world conference (IFCO). Our own executive member, Dr. Shelly Johnson is a standing committee member with this organization and her involvement strengthens the voices of Indigenous Children at an international capacity.  Our research network also presented a workshop during this conference.  Please see conference information at:
